Historically, Helsinge consisted of twelve farms situated nearby the church. By the end of the 1700s, almost each of those farms moved to its own piece of land, letting the village enjoy the large hinterland. In such a way, Helsinge became a merchant location. With the arrival of the railway and its further extension, the town has managed to attract new residents. Nowadays, the local population is over 8 thousand people. Merchandising is the heart and soul of the town even today. It is one of the most robust trading hubs in Gribskov municipality and an attractive commercial location in the whole of a Zealand island. Shops for rent in Helsinge were, are and will always be magnets for the owners of retail businesses. Who would not like to establish a store in an area with so long and rich trading history?
