2 business centers: Pamplona

Pamplona is a globally recognised city thanks to one single tradition. The festival held here annually raises many controversial opinions and discussions. This is all because Pamplona is home to the “Running of the Bulls” tradition. Each year, specially raised bulls run through the city, while the bravest residents try to challenge and bully them. Hundreds of thousands of tourists come to Pamplona to enjoy local festivals, culture and cuisine. Pamplona is the biggest city of the Autonomous Community of Navarre, and historically also of the former Kingdom of Navarre. Nowadays, the old part of the town is still surrounded by the city wall.

The city of Pamplona used to be a Kingdom, so it is no surprise that nowadays it is a commercial and political centre of Navarra. The regional administration has its official seat in the city. The regional economy is based on two main pillars: industrial and tertiary sectors. The industry of Pamplona concentrates around construction materials, metallurgy, paper production and food processing. The Landbaden industrial district creates a significant number of workspaces thanks to the Volkswagen car company situated there. The production plant generates around 5 thousand workplaces in the region. Moreover, the majority of the cars produced there are being exported, which also stimulates trade, sales and retail. In search of suitable industrial land, many factories are gradually moving from the city to the metropolitan area. This improves the ecological situation in Pamplona and therefore, the quality of life. The service sector mainly consists of small and medium-sized family-run companies in the fields of tourism, hospitality and financial services. The city has two universities: the Public University of Navarra and the University of Navarra, in addition to having a campus of the National University of Distance Education.
