LABC is a social innovation project that aims to meet a series of needs in the territory including the Municipalities of Cento, Finale Emilia, Bondeno, and neighboring areas, in order to promote the economic, social, and cultural revival of an area that has been particularly affected by the economic crisis in recent years, both due to disastrous events such as the 2012 earthquake, and due to its distant location from major industrial centers and lack of adequate infrastructure connections.

LABC aims to start from the grassroots to create the conditions for economic, social, and cultural growth of the territory, involving all stakeholders such as: public entities, industry associations, schools, entrepreneurs, professionals, etc.

The identified needs are as follows:

• Bringing students closer to companies during their school path;


• Creating acceleration paths for young people after school and unemployed to facilitate job placement or reintegration;


• Using the latest technologies to improve education;


• Promoting the birth of innovative start-ups;


• Organizing training courses to enhance individual skills;


• Providing companies with highly qualified and qualifying innovative services;


• Promoting technology transfer from research to application in the field.


• Providing physical coworking spaces equipped with shared secretarial services and highly performing equipment, meeting rooms, and conference facilities.

LABC activities will take place in adequately equipped premises located in Casumaro (FE), with an area of approximately 1,600 square meters, resulting from the post-earthquake restructuring of the offices of the former Govoni Sim Bianca Impianti.

LABC is managed by Caracol, a social cooperative based in Finale Emilia, which aims to develop various types of social projects in order to offer job opportunities and opportunities for personal development.

The LABC project has received a non-repayable contribution from the Emilia Romagna Region under the POR-FESR funds within the framework of the "Social Innovation Projects" call approved by Regional Council resolution no. 1287 of 26/07/2023, as the entity recognized in the submitted project a new approach to creating networks among companies, encouraging and supporting self-entrepreneurship, promoting the meeting of labor supply and demand, assisting in the reintegration of individuals who have lost their jobs for various reasons, and fostering the relationship between school and industry.
