Salerno is an ancient city, situated in the Campania region. Geographically, it lies on the coast of the Tyrrhenian Sea, within the borders of the so-called 3 P’s Tourist Triangle - Pompei, Positano and Paestum. The economic crisis of the 1970-80s harmed the local manufacturing ecosystem. It resulted in the massive extinction of enterprises that were operating in that sphere. Thus, starting from that era, the economy of Salerno was slightly transformed into a service-based one. Companies that rent offices in Salerno nowadays mainly relate to the fields of consulting, education, tourism, food processing, etc. The local budget benefits significantly from the performance of the seaport. It is one of the largest in the Tyrrhenian Sea and manages to hold 10 million tons of cargo per year.
