Zurich is considered the economic center of Switzerland. The entire commercial area of the city and its surroundings is also called the "Greater Zurich Area". At the international level, it differs, first of all, by low-interest rates (but not by local standards) and high quality of life. The headquarters and representative offices of many international concerns are located here. The economy is mostly focused on services, which employs almost 90% of the working population. Other developed sectors of Zurich economy are health care, education, machine building, and insurance. Also, the nominal GDP per capita is one of the highest in the world.
