Recently Leipzig has undergone an enormous social, economic and structural change. The unemployment is at the lowest rates since the 1990s. The population grows and nowadays it is more than 580 thousand people. The city occupies the strategic geographical position not only in Germany but also in the world. Close to Berlin, Potsdam, Magdeburg, Dresden and Erfurt, it attracts SMEs, freelancers, entrepreneurs and large enterprises by the perfect transportation links. All this justifies the emergence and the refurbishment of the business centres in Leipzig. The city centre has a majority of them. Though, the suburbs don’t stay far behind, especially nowadays - when an INSEK project has been implemented to the region. It should be finished by 2030 and is keen on the ecologic, social and economic balance.
