Väinö is a red brick monumental building designed by architect Väinö Vähäkallio in Sörnäinen, at the corner of Hämeentie and Kaikukatu. Representing Nordic classicism, the house is known for its art deco details and clock tower, and the Finnish Heritage Agency has assessed the area as culturally significant. The main building was completed in 1927 and the extension in 1928. The building served as the headquarters of the cooperative society Elanto from 1928 to 1995, and it was named after Elanto's long-time CEO Väinö Tanner, who lived on the fifth floor of the building. The entire building was converted for office use in 1967, and the windows were renovated in the original style in 2007. There is a total of approximately 11,200 m² of rentable space in the building. The spaces are renovated with respect for the old spirit and according to the needs of the tenant, with sizes ranging from about 90 square meters to nearly 1,500 square meters.

Both Hakaniemi and Sörnäinen metro stations are about 500 meters away, and it takes about two minutes by metro from Hakaniemi to Rautatientori. The connections to the motorways to Lahti and Porvoo are good by car. Parking spaces are available for rent from the property.
