Rotterdam is a city in the south of Holland with the population of over 600,000 people. It is popular with knowledge immigrants and entrepreneurs, which creates demand for commercial and residential properties here. Rotterdam attracts a lot of foreign investment, especially in such industries as IT, maritime, and agriculture. Favorable investment climate and good digital connectivity are among the main reasons why both Dutch and international companies, e.g. Unilever, Shell Downstream, Pfizer, Procter & Gamble, and many others, rent office space here, mainly in business centers. It is not surprising as serviced offices are a convenient solution for many reasons, the main being flexibility and facilities included in the price. Rotterdam is nicknamed “The Gateway to Europe” due to its strategic location and well-developed transport infrastructure. Also, it is a very cosmopolitan city - it has become home to over 170 nations. Rotterdam’s burgeoning economy is mainly based on shipping. Most of its Europe-largest port cargoes are crude oil, grain, and petroleum products. The petrochemical industry is also important in the city: there are a few big oil refineries here. It all makes the city a great business destination.
