The County of Skåne has appeared a little more than 20 years ago after two counties were merged together. As a result, Skåne is now home to over 1.3 million people and the population continues to grow. Overall, Skåne is a globally recognised transportation hub that connects Scandinavia with the European mainland. The area boasts long-established links to cross-border regions, especially across the Öresund Strait. The County’s capital Malmö is a globally-recognised business hub, famous for its outstanding infrastructure, numerous successful businesses and a wide range of highly-developed branches. But the region itself has a lot to offer, for instance, Skåne boasts a wide range of industrial as well as agricultural productions. In fact, it is the most important agricultural area in Sweden. Potential business owners in Skåne County can benefit from a wide range of factors:
Highly-educated talent pool. The county provides around 15% of national graduates and is famous for its outstanding, educated talent pool, especially in the tertiary sector. And even though, the area boasts a rather high unemployment rate, it has been caused by an influx of refugees. So companies, looking for qualified staff, still need to compete for employees.
